GET TO KNOW AGBO: CASEY LAPIDUS

Casey Lapidus is an Executive Assistant at AGBO. She has been with the company since 2022 and works on the Marketing team, supporting the Chief Marketing Officer, Marian Koltai-Levine. Her role spans across the marketing department and Casey collaborates with most teams including Physical Production, Film and Television to name a few. Originally from the Bay area, Casey went to film school in Hawaii and has experience on set working on productions as well. 

How did you come to work in marketing here at AGBO?

I studied creative media in college at the University of Hawaii, at Manoa. It was a great time, learned a lot, got into a lot of physical production. Was working on a couple of TV shows out in Hawaii, Magnum P.I., Hawaii Five-0, Jumanji, all that kind of stuff. Super fun working as a PA, Then decided I kind of wanted to do something a little more fun and upbeat and kind of deal a lot more with people in a sense. I love doing like events. I love doing any sort of coming together gatherings and stuff like that, celebrations. I just found myself applying to marketing and switching fields and absolutely loved it ever since.

Describe your role as an executive assistant for the marketing team.

I would say being an executive assistant, you oversee a lot of different things. You're kind of just lightly touching on a lot of the events that are taking place here. A lot of the collaborations, the partnerships, kind of just meeting a ton of new people, getting more people into the community. So we've been working on the movies and TV shows and the publicity and the marketing for those.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

I love seeing the behind the scenes of things and how it works. It's great to put on a seamless show and kind of have everything working exactly perfect. Like it was easy breezy, but there's so much work that goes in behind it. And seeing everyone operate, I call it a giant clock, and everyone's a little cog that's just doing their part and that's what makes everything work amazingly. And these are no small feats.

What’s been your favorite AGBO event?

I think nothing will beat The Gray Man premiere. I literally– I think it was my first week that I had started and I was supposed to go to the premiere at the end of the week and help kind of with the whole thing. And never been to an LA premiere before. Never been to like something as big as Netflix or anything. Justjust being on the carpet was an unforgettable experience and everyone was so kind, very accepting, you know, just welcomed right into the family.

Which character in the AGBO universe do you most relate to?

I think I most relate to Dani Miranda. She's just kind of, she's chill. She's badass. She doesn't really take a ton of BS or anything like that, but she's good at her job and she knows how to get it done and she follows the rules to a certain point, which, you know, I like boundaries and stuff, but I love her.

What’s your favorite movie?

My favorite movie, I say this a lot, it's Juno. I just love the writing, I love the humor, I love the acting. Just the whole vibe of it and the story. To me, it's exactly my type of movie.
